Ahmed Mekky is a prominent figure of the ICT industry, enjoying more than 20 years of collective experience in the telecommunications and technology fields. His cognitive vision for the future and his relentless contributions to the industry positioned him as a central figure within this sector.
Building on his successful career and diversified experience, in 2008, Mekky co-founded GBI, the region’s first-ever privately owned telecommunications service provider that operates its own neutral submarine cable connecting the MENA region to Europe, Africa and Asia.
Mekky continued his tireless pursuit of advancements within the industry, shifting his focus in 2016 to his next mega-venture, Benya, with the vision of building the most successful and reliable ICT infrastructure provider adopting state-of-the-art technology solutions in the Middle East and Africa.
Mekky was named in the Global Telecoms Business (GTB) Power 100 list and awarded Industry CEO of the Year’ at the Telecom Review Summit 2019.
Group Deputy CEO & CFO
Sherif Nabih is an accomplished entrepreneur and veteran banker with over 36 years of practical experience and specialized in turn around, restructuring, management consulting, investment banking, private banking, corporate, retail, asset management and brokerage.
Having graduated from Ain Shams University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1984, Nabih developed an iconic career trajectory in the private and public banking sectors on local, regional, and global levels. After obtaining his master’s degree in international finance from Webster University in London, Nabih acquired leading positions in a myriad of formidable financial firms and banking groups. in 1998, he was accredited as a financial consultant (FC) Series “7”,
In the early stages of his career, Nabih worked as an area private banking manager at Arab Bank in London and a liability management team leader at Mashreq Bank in Dubai. Between 1998 and 2008, he held many positions including the vice president of Merrill Lynch International Bank in London and Bahrain, the deputy general manager and head of Private Banking at Commercial International Bank (CIB), the senior vice president heading retail, private banking and capital market groups at Union National Bank, the country head for GAMPB (Global Asset Management and Private Banking) at Arab Bank, and the CEO and managing director of the investment bank Prime Securities.
Nabih also acquired a prominent governmental role from 2015:2019 when he was named the Chairman of the Egyptian Ministry of Transport Investments and Projects (MOT) where he spearheaded all state-led investment projects.
Group Chief Commercial Officer
Osama Qadan is the Chief Commercial Officer for Benya Group. He is responsible for the business development and commercial strategy of the Benya Group. Mr Qadan is the founder & ex-CEO of Equinox International (currently Fiber Misr Systems) which was acquired by Benya in 2018. Mr. Qadan founded Equinox International in 2005. He led its strategic and business activities interacting with key clients in the region and technology vendors worldwide. Prior to founding Equinox International, Mr. Qadan spent three years at OPNET Technologies (USA), where he served as a Senior Director within the Consulting Services Division. There he led the development and management of several initiatives within the US and the international arenas. Prior to that, Mr. Qadan held the position of Network Development Manager at Astrolink International (USA) and the position of Lead System Engineer in Intelsat (USA).
Mr. Qadan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology, a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, USA), and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, USA).
Group Chief Digital Officer
Marked with his distinguished career across the information and communications technology (ICT) industry, Hany Bedair is recognized as a top-tier C-level executive and business consultant and a with proven leadership capabilities.
Bedair holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Banking and Finance from Maastricht School of Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Ain Shams University, in addition to numerous business and technical development courses.
Between 2000 and 2014, Bedair has been with Veon Asia and Africa Business Unit (VimpelCom, Orascom Telecom Holding), He served as the Group Chief Technology and Information Officer, managing over 200 million subscribers across 22 operations in five different continents. In the interim, he has acquired multiple executive and management roles with several multinational giants, including Telkom Kenya, Roshan, Alcatel, Esso Standard, as well as a Board member for several companies including the submarine systems Mena Cable and Med Cable.
Bedair is also an entrepreneur who is the founder of UK-based technology, media, and telecom (TMT) investment company Zeus Invest as well as Technology consultancy firm TechnoServe.
